Hyundai Auto Canada has named Laura Nava as its new director of marketing to take the lead on the development and execution of integrated strategies across brand, retail, CRM, digital, sponsorships and events.
Nava joins Hyundai from Google Canada, where she spent the past four years working with automotive clients on various marketing and technology solutions. Prior to Google, she spent more than 18 years at General Motors of Canada, in roles including national marketing manager for Chevrolet, national marketing manager of retail and operations, national field manager and media relations manager.
At Hyundai, Nava will also work to advance the company’s strategic partnerships and growth initiatives, while serving as the primary point of contact for all internal and external marketing, according to a release.
“[Nava’s] depth of experience and forward-thinking approach will strengthen our marketing capabilities and support continued growth across our business,” Hyundai Canada president and CEO Steve Flamand said in a statement.
Nava takes over the role from Christine Smith, who was Hyundai Canada’s marketing director from July 2021 until February 2026. Smith was accountable for enterprise growth strategy, brand transformation and national go-to-market execution and supported a number of campaigns, including “Welcome to Team Hyundai” starring NHLer Connor Bedard and the Canadian rollout of the automaker’s “Wah” platform.
