Creative director joins Leo from Gut Toronto

Pam Danowski has joined Leo Toronto in a creative director role after more than five years at Gut Toronto. She started at Gut as an associate creative director March 2021 before being promoted to creative director six months later.

She previously spent more than four years at Ogilvy’s Toronto office in senior copywriter and associate creative director positions and throughout her career has worked for brands including Tim Hortons, Huggies, SickKids, Mike’s Hard and Honeycomb.

Danowski was part of the Ogilvy Canada team that created Dove’s “Courage is Beautiful,” which won two Golds and one Bronze at the 2021 Marketing Awards.

Long-time creative pair join Cossette

Cossette is expanding its talent roster with the addition of Dylan Verwey and John Ricciardella as creative directors.

The pair joined the agency this month in the newly created positions after close to four years working together at VML as associate creative directors. Before that, both served as associate creative directors at Taxi for a year and a half.

Verwey was a contributor to the “Balikbayan Magic: Hand Delivered for Coca-Cola” campaign, which earned Silver at this year’s Marketing Awards and has also worked with clients such as Cineplex, Bell and CAMH.

Ricciardella also contributed to Kraft Heinz’s “Wait for Heinz” campaign, which won Marketing Awards Silver in 2022, and has also supported rollouts for Volkwagen, Coors Light and IKEA throughout his career.

New managing director structure announced at National

National Public Relations has a new leadership structure in Atlantic Canada, naming Tanya DiPenta, Kristie Forbes and Kristan Hines as managing directors. Kevin McCann has also been appointed to head of innovation and strategy for the agency across Canada.

The agency tells strategy that defence, energy, natural resources, tourism, infrastructure, population growth and major project investment are all creating new opportunities in Atlantic Canada. The trio has been part of the region’s leadership team for years and will focus on providing more integrated solutions.

DiPenta will lead business development and commercial strategy as managing director of growth; Forbes will lead client service, delivery and talent as managing director of client services; and Hines will lead strategic advisory, public affairs and market positioning as managing director of advisory.

McCann, meanwhile, will lead innovation and AI initiatives across National and its consultancy Time & Space.
