Hershey Canada names Michelle Gupta head of marketing

Michelle Gupta is the newest head of marketing at Hershey Canada, according to a post on LinkedIn.

She joins the maker of Reese’s, Jolly Rancher and Twizzlers, after nine years at Procter & Gamble, where she had been working as the B2B and B2C brand director for oral care since November 2024. She began her tenure at Procter & Gamble’s Toronto office as a brand manager in August 2017 and then moved into a senior brand manager role in September 2019 before becoming brand director of B2B oral care in July 2022 to oversee the Crest and Oral-B portfolio.

Gupta has also worked as a guest lecturer at York University’s Schulich School of Business since October 2024 and is a national co-lead at Forward Together, an organization that provides educational and networking opportunities to advance opportunities for women in business.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join such an incredible team and work on some of the most beloved brands in Canada,” Gupta said in a LinkedIn post. “Hershey is a place where brilliant people, a snacking powerhouse portfolio, and a genuine passion for making more moments of goodness all come together, and I am so ready to be part of it.”

The announcement comes a year and a half after Ola Machnowski stepped down from the senior director and head of marketing role at Hershey Canada in January 2025. Machnowski joined Lactalis Canada as its VP of marketing, cheese and table spreads this spring after close to a year and a half as the VP of demand generation at SharkNinja Canada.

Paloma Bentes moved into the senior director and head of marketing title at Hershey Canada in March 2025 before moving south in May to become the company’s senior director of sweets and refreshments based at its headquarters in Pennsylvania.
