Deborah Neff joins Pet Valu as CMO

Deborah Neff is the new CMO at Pet Valu to oversee the retailer’s enterprise-wide marketing strategy, including customer loyalty, engagement and analytics responsibilities.

Prior to joining Pet Valu, Neff worked in progressively senior marketing roles during 25-plus years in the industry, most recently as Starbucks’ VP of product and marketing in Canada since February 2023.

Earlier this year, she helped develop Starbucks’ rewards revamp rollout and last year oversaw Starbucks’ omnichannel “It’s Never Just Coffee” campaign by agency partner Leo, which aimed to reconnect the brand with the daily routines of Canadians.

Neff also previously worked as an SVP of marketing during a five-year tenure at Sephora, where her purpose-first focus and the development of company’s first ever National Indigenous History Month led to recognition from strategy as a 2021 Brand of the Year.

Prior, Neff spent nearly a decade at Revlon in roles including GM, VP of marketing and VP, global portfolio lead across the cosmetic brand’s Toronto and New York offices.

She moves into her new role after Tanbir Grover departed Pet Valu in January following five-plus years as chief marketing and digital officer.
